L'Occitane Lip Balm

L'Occitane Lip Balm StickA L'Occitane product which is often overlooked, but we love it!

If the pure shea butter is too much for you then try this - it contains shea butter, but it feels much lighter on the lips. It glides on and lips feel instantly moisturised and protected. Despite gliding on it doesn't glide off, it isn't sticky and you can easily apply lipstick or gloss over the top.

At £6.50 we think this is excellent value - it may seem a little pricey to some of you for a lip balm, but the results are brilliant - lip colour and texture improves no end and it's worth chucking your 99p chapstick for!

L'Occitane 100% Pure Shea Butter

L'Occitane Shea Butter A hero product!

Shea butter is a fabulous ingredient, but sometimes pure shea butter is all you need. Extremely soothing, repairing and moisturising it is ideal for excema, allergy sufferers and those with sore dry skin.

We use it on sore skin; as a lip balm; as a nail and cuticle balm; on dry elbows, knees and ankles; as a manicure and pedicure treatment; in place of a hair serum... oh the list goes on! Basically, if you like natural products and treatments you'd be a fool to miss this.

It lasts ages, a large tin is a good investment if you use it daily for many uses, but a smaller tin will be ideal for travel or if you just use it as a lip balm.

L'Occitane's Shea Butter is bought directly from a female co-operative, so you can be sure of a fairly traded, quality product.

And the packaging is fab too!

Molton Brown Vitamin Lipsaver

Molton Brown LipsaverA real treat for lips and very popular with many of our readers and testers, especially in winter for chapped lips. It's often a battle for this and L'Occitane's Shea Butter to take top place for best lip balm.

Feels great on the lips as you can feel it moisturising, soothing and protecting. Contains vitamin E, honey and beeswax - but don't worry if you're not a fan of honey flavours, it doesn't taste at all. The lack of flavour is great rather than a down side as you're much less likely to lick it off!!

Comes in a tube which is great for travel to hotter countries - many of us have experienced the melting lip balm sticks and pots turning to liquid which can mean total mess and less benefit. This does soften more in hot weather, but still retains all the great benefits and works just as well as when it is more solid.

Also great on cuticles and some of us have even used it on our elbows!
